Disney Friday - Departure Day

Even though we got to sleep well after midnight, we still managed to make it to Magic Kingdom for park opening. We didn't waste our time fighting the Tomorrowland or Fantasyland crowds since we had already done all that - thanks to the rain. We picked up the rides in Adventure and Frontier Lands.

This was the first time Max had tears on departure day. He said he was going to miss all the animals and that he had a great time. I think Thanksgiving might be the perfect time for us to balance weather with Max's school schedule.

Disney Thanksgiving

Max awoke on Thanksgiving day to find a present left for him by Mickey Mouse. It was a Webkinz Turkey that Max named Turkey. We arrived at Animal Kingdom for opening. We took a safari, walked some trails, watched the bird show and had Thanksgiving lunch with friends.

After lunch we rode some rides and dug in the bone yard. We caught the bus back to the resort. Daddy and Max stayed and Mommy hopped another bus to Downtown Disney for shopping. We met back up at the resort to go to Epcot for Dinner.
Thanksgiving Dinner was with Mickey and Friends at Garden Grill. We had all the traditional Thanksgiving food and Max had chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and fries all his favorites.

After dinner we took the monorail from Epcot to Magic Kingdom. We figured why not - it is our last night here and we want to see what it looks like Thanksgiving Night. We stumbled upon a dance party with Pluto and Max joined right in.
Definitely not a night to go for rides the place was packed but we did all the non busy stuff. We watched the fireworks from Toontown and the wind must have shifted because we were bombarded with firework debris.
We hung around a little longer and then headed back to our bus stop. Oh my goodness. It was crazy. There were tons of people trying to leave. We made it on the fourth bus and had to stand while I held a sleeping Max. After some acrobatics Daddy managed to end up on an electrical box of the bus and I was able to hand Max off. I don't think we will ever make that mistake again. This is what we saw leaving the park.

Disney Wednesday

Wednesday was the first day of our trip to visit Magic Kingdom. We arrived for opening and the crowds were crazy but it was misting. We pulled out our ponchos and tried to make the mad dash to Space Mountain but were too far back so Daddy got us fast passes and Max and I rode Astro Orbiter. About that time the rain was coming down pretty hard and people were scurrying. We totally used this to our advantage and rode everything in sight.

We took the boat over to the Polynesian for lunch at Kona Cafe.

After lunch we weren't supposed to go back to Magic Kingdom but we couldn't pass up this golden opportunity so we hopped on the monorail back. Not many pics taken in the rain but we had such a fun day. Since it was raining and Max had a poncho on this was the first time we got him to ride Splash Moutain and he loved it. Before we left the park we stopped by toontown and walked right in to see the princesses after riding Goofy's Barnstormer a couple of times.

We freshened up at our hotel and then went over to Animal Kingdom for extra magic hours. We had a great time with Mickey and the gang in all their holiday clothes.

Disney Tuesday

We opened up MGM or as Max would correct me every time - Disney's Hollywood Studios. We did our mad rush to Toy Story Mania but didn't split off to get a fast pass too. After the ride we played in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground until the opening of the Cars line. Took pics with Lightning and Mater, watched muppets, rode Star Tours, then headed to lunch at the Sci Fi Dine in Theater.
Sci Fi is completely indoors and looks like a drive in movie theater. Your tables are in little convertible cars all facing a giant movie screen showing various sci-fi clips. This was Max's first time eating here and he loved it.

After lunch we caught American Idol, met up with Buzz and Woody, did Animation Academy, then headed to our hotel.

Back at our hotel Daddy took a nap and Max and I walked over to Animal Kingdom Kidani Village, the new vacation club property they built. We stopped and visited the ostriches on the way.
Kidani Village has an awesome pool area.
We met Daddy back at our bus stop and went back to MGM for Indiana Jones, dinner at Pizza Planet and to tour the Osbourne Spectacle of Lights with our friends.

After touring the Lights we headed over to a final Animation Academy and we found Sorcerer Mickey all by himself.
