Today the Kindergarteners had a Nursury Rhyme Parade through school. Each student was to dress as a nursery rhyme. Max loved being Humpty Dumpty.

Max Earns His Wings

Tonight at Sparks, Max said three more verses and earned his wings and red jewel one. These wings will hold all the jewels he will earn this year. He was super excited.
Every week the Sparks get money for saying verses, attending Sunday School, wearing their uniform and bringing their bible. Max loves collecting and counting his money.

Disneyland Flashback

While updating everything I realized I never actually included all our Disneyland pictures, you know the important ones with the characters. Here they are:

First Soccer Game

Today was Max's first soccer game and he was not supposed to play per the doctor but Daddy thought he should. Since I didn't think he was going to play I didn't spend anytime this week preparing him. Big mistake. Poor little guy was overwhelmed. He didn't know any of his teammates since he wasn't at practice and didn't understand why they weren't talking to him. He didn't understand why he didn't get to play right away. He didn't understand that it would be so hot and he would get so tired. He didn't understand that his little butt cheeks would sweat so much and he kept picking at his underwear thinking he had a poop accident. Finally, he didn't understand that other little boys will kick him even if he won't kick them and they will not say they are sorry. He played two 6 minute time slots and decided that he didn't want to go in the third time. Hopefully, he will be better prepared for the next game after this weeks practice.

Y-M-C-A

During the assembly this morning at school, Max got called up to the front for selling enough entertainment books. He won a $10 Strikz card and a stuffed monkey which he insists is a zebra since it is black and white. He named her Zoe Zebra. This weeks dance was the YMCA.

Ice Cream Social

Tonight Max's school had an Ice Cream Social. Max insisted upon going even though he still wasn't 100%.

On the way home we stopped by the new park behind Max's school to see what it looked like. Max couldn't resist trying out the spinner.

Sick Days

Monday night after Awana it just looked like Max did not feel very well. After his bath and before bed we took his temperature and he had a fever and a slight cough. I took him to the doctor Tuesday and his blood oxygen level was very low and he was wheezing. They gave him two breathing treatments in their office and sent us for an x-ray. The doctor had warned me that the medicine might make him sick to his stomach. The poor x-ray tech found that out the hard way when Max proceeded to vomit all over the x-ray room.
We left the hospital to go get his prescription filled at Target. During the twenty minute wait he got sick again, this time all the water he had consumed on the way to Target. Can we get a clean up on aisle 9? The rest of the day and all day Wednesday involved alternating breathing treatments, cough medicine, and prescriptions. Max didn't seem to mind too much he spent the treatment times playing video games or listening to his Sparks CD.

What a Spark!

Here is Max in his new Spark vest that he earned last week. Of course he is wearing his Cowboys jersey since they were on Monday Night Football. During the week I kept trying to go over the verses that he would need to say to his Spark leader to get his rank patch. He seemed uninterested everytime I would try so I figure it would take multiple weeks but much to my surprise he said all six verses to his leader and earned his Hanglider patch. Way to go Max!

Lunch with Mom

Today I brought Max Chick-fil-a to school and ate lunch with him. Since his lunchtime is at 10:30 I had to bring him breakfast but we both love the chicken mini's so that is ok with us.

Walking in the Rain

Mommy loves to walk in the rain, Max not so much. I picked him up from school in the rain with an umbrella for each of us. I thought this will be great we will get to walk home in the rain, splash in some puddles, then get in and cuddle up in some dry clothes. Max was not having any of that. All the way home I got a lecture about why didn't I drive and an insistence that I drive the next time it rains. I agreed but ended up breaking my promise the next day when I went to get him, it was dry my whole way to pick him up and then started to rain right when he walked out of the building. He forgave me but still insists the next time drive.

Awana Begins

Tonight was the first night of Awana and Max is officially a Spark. He said John 3:16 tonight and earned his Spark Vest so next week you will get to see him sporting a new look. The cubbie version of John 3:16 was For God so loved the world he sent his son. The Spark version is For God so loved the world he sent his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Thats alot more for a little guy to say but he can rattle it off just like that.

Max's World - Sperm Talk

This is what I heard coming from the gameroom this morning

Max talking to himself:

I used to be a sperm

Yoohoo open my egg, I'm a Max sperm!

This is what you get when you are honest with your children about reproduction. Not that we have given too many details just that it takes a sperm from a Daddy and an egg from a Mommy to make the baby that grows in the Mommy's tummy until the doctor takes it out. Who knows what images that little mind has twirling around.

Spirit Days

Fridays are spirit days at school and everyone wears their red spirit shirts. The school has a morning assembly for all the kids and parents can attend. Following todays assemble the kindergarten class got to stay and have some fun including dancing the tootie ta. If you have never heard of the tootie ta here are the motions: thumbs up, elbows back, feet apart, knees together, bottoms up, tongue out, eyes shut, turn around. Not the easiest thing in the world but Max does a pretty good job.
