What Happened?

One minute I am watching Max through the door to Destination Imagination practice and the next minute his teacher is coming out saying he just vomited in the trash can. We came home and he crashed and then I rushed him to get tested for the flu. The test was negative, he never ran a fever, and he felt good enough that night to go to a hockey game. Who knows what happened.

Field Trip to Safety Town

The first field trip for first grade is Safety Town. The kiddos learned all about vehicle and pedestrian safety in the classroom and then put it to the test out in safety town. First Max was a pedestrian on a scavenger hunt having to obey all crosswalks and street safety. Then he was put behind the wheel of an electronic jeep and had to obey all traffic laws. Too funny.

Since Safety Town is located in a fire department of course they got to tour and play there as well.

Neighborhood Fall Fest

Ice Skating Lessons

A new ice skating rink just opened in our neighborhood. We decided to put Max in ice skating lessons and he loves it. Here are some pics from lesson #1 - the two foot glide.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Max was in the mood for decorating. He painted his little pumpkin and drew on our decorative plate.

Pumpkin Patch

It was such a nice day after church and lunch we decided to hit a small local pumpkin patch. Max's favorite thing was playing with his friends in the hay maze.

Busy Day

Usually when Daddy goes out of town it is on a weekday. Those aren't so bad we have a schedule to keep us busy. This time it was a weekend and since Daddy is Max's best playmate Mommy had big shoes to fill.

We started the day going to Walmart for a free Lego build.
Next stop was a new science place to see Grossology - the science behind everything gross in your body. We made snot, dissected a cow's eye, learned about burping, farting, body odors, etc...

We stopped by Target to do some shopping, grabbed lunch at Sonic, came home and played video games, Uno Moo, and built a pirate ship. We had a great day together filled with activities we both love.
