Awana Grand Prix

This year was the first year for Max to build a pine car for the Grand Prix. He and Daddy did everything by themselves. Max told Daddy what shape to cut and then Max did all the painting and sticker work. He didn't win anything overall but he did win quite a few races.

Stood Up

Max was scheduled for a playdate today. The ice came and school was cancelled but we were still planning on having his friend over. He had been counting down the days. Her mom called and had forgotten about the playdate and let her go to work with her dad. I thought oh no, how am I going to tell him this. Fortunately the mom suggested that the little girl could call Max from her daddy's work. Here are bits and pieces of the conversation I heard.

I thought you were coming to my house.

I'll see you at school.

Can you believe all this ice out there.

Mario Max

Max went to a Mario birthday party and for the favors the boys were given either Mario or Luigi hats and the girls were given Princess Peach crowns. Very cute idea.

College Day

Each child had to draw a picture of the college they wanted to attend when they grow up. You would think with all the indoctrination Max would have chosen OSU. Nope.
According to Max he will be playing football for VIVA in Vietnam. He cracks me up!

Special Delivery

Max received a surprise package in the mail today from the White House. He was beyond excited. Inside was a signed picture of President Bush and Laura, a presidential seal pin, a flag pin, and Max's favorite a box of crayons with the white house pets. He kept asking, How does George Bush know my name? Thanks, Ms Jordan for making Max feel so special.

DC Insider

Max had an awesome time on his tour of the West Wing. We were only allowed to take pics inside the press room and outside but got to see all kinds of stuff.

Mr. Max Goes to Washington

Everytime Daddy goes to DC Max always states "I've never been to Washington DC, when do I get to go?" Since he has been obsessed with Presidents for years he has always wanted to go to DC. Thanks to some wonderful friends he was invited to tour the West Wing of the White House before the new administration took over. As parents we couldn't turn down this once in a lifetime opportunity for our little guy. So even though we just got back from Disney we had to take him out of school and make it happen. We were able to use miles for airfare and we got a four star hotel for $89/night (Hotwire) two blocks from the White House and across from the Washington Post. We flew in at night which was amazing to see DC all lit up from our plane and also from our cab ride to the hotel. The next morning we hit the streets for a day of touring via our feet. We were very impressed with Max he walked everywhere and didn't complain although it was very cold, even snowing.
