Birthday at the Ritz

After his DI Tournament we headed to downtown Dallas to eat at Fearings inside the Ritz Carlton. We were invited to celebrate a friends birthday. Max was included on the invitation and since it was his birthday too there was no way we were going to go without him. Max soon became the VIP of the night. He got to meet the chef Dean Fearing and all the waitstaff introduced themselves to him and would check on him anytime they were in the vicinity. We heard Mr. Max how's it going, need anything, etc... all night. A local attorney leaned over and said I think Max is the most famous person in here. Thanks Mr. J and Mrs. A for sharing the night.

DI Tournament

The Destination Imagination tournament was held on Max's birthday. The tournament was scheduled to last all day. The team arrived early, practiced, performed their play, ate lunch, participated in an instant challenge, and then had an awards ceremony.
The team had been working on their play since October. The theme was a hidden place. The team was responsible for creating the idea, writing the script, making the set, and getting their own costumes. Max's team chose the inside of a princess' ear as the hidden place. Max was the wizard who shrinks the knight so that he may enter the ear.

When it was the team's turn to accept their award the song YMCA was playing. Max couldn't help but do the dance.

Family Birthday

Max was suprised afterschool by his Nanny, Memaw, and Pepaw. He opened their presents, we all went to Posados for dinner, and then he tried out his new bike.

Birthday at School

Max's birthday fell on a Saturday this year so he celebrated at school on Friday. Friday's are when they hold the weekly assembly and acknowledge birthdays by handing out pencils and singing the birthday rap.
Later in the day Mommy and Daddy delivered Sprinkles cupcakes to the class per Max's request.

Jedi Training

Max asked for a Star Wars party this year for his birthday. I had a free party available to me at a Tae Kwon Do place so we decided it would be a Jedi Training Party. It turned out to be a great party and fit the theme well.

Lightsaber Duel

Max used his birthday money from Grandpa to buy lightsabers for the Wii to use with his new Star Wars dueling game. Tonight was spent dueling with Daddy.

Valentines

Max was still running a fever so he had to miss his school Valentine's Day party. He was bummed but was so excited when his valentine box was delivered from school.

Mardi Gras Birthday

Max was home, sick from school and was so excited to receive a present from Grandpa in the mail. It was a King Cake to decorate, along with beads, and the coolest Star Wars birthday card that played the theme song with money inside.

100th Day

For the 100th day of school Max had to make a shirt with 100 items on it. He wanted flags of countries since that is his current obsession. I ironed on 54 flags of countries and we stuck on 45 felt stars and 1 felt heart. He had been talking about the 100th day of school since the beginning of the year. He was convinced they were going to have a big party and that would be the last day of school.
